جميع الرضع ابتداءً من عمر شهرين، يُعطى كلقاح فموي في جرعتين أو ثلاث جرعات حسب المنتج.

Pregnancy: Not applicable.

Rotavirus vaccines are indicated exclusively for infants (first dose before 15 weeks of age). Pregnancy is not relevant for the target population. Adult and maternal rotavirus vaccination is not indicated.

Breastfeeding: No impact on vaccine efficacy.

Breastfeeding does not reduce rotavirus vaccine efficacy and should NOT be restricted before or after vaccination. WHO recommends continuing normal breastfeeding around the time of rotavirus vaccination.

Pediatric use: Strict age restrictions.

• Rotarix (RV1): 2 oral doses at 2 and 4 months. Minimum age: 6 weeks. Series must be completed by 24 weeks (some guidelines) or 8 months of age.

• RotaTeq (RV5): 3 oral doses at 2, 4, 6 months. Minimum age: 6 weeks. First dose by 15 weeks. Series completed by 8 months of age.

• Strict age limits to minimize baseline intussusception risk (risk increases with age).

• Preterm infants: vaccinate at chronological age (not corrected gestational age).

• Contraindicated in Severe Combined Immunodeficiency (SCID) and history of intussusception.

• Infants living with immunocompromised household members can be vaccinated (standard hygiene precautions for handling diapers).

• If infant spits out or vomits the dose, do NOT re-administer.

Geriatric use: Not applicable.

Rotavirus vaccines are exclusively indicated for infants and are not used in adult or geriatric populations.
