Do I need to register to use Medova?
No, browsing information about countries, vaccinations, and health risks is completely free and does not require registration. An account is only needed if you want to save travel plans, book clinic appointments, or receive personalized recommendations.
How much does Medova cost?
Browsing all health and vaccination information is completely free. Some advanced features, such as personalized travel health plans or online consultations with specialists, may be available as paid options in the future.

How do I change my password or email address?

Vaccinations & Health

How do I check which vaccinations are required for my destination?
Search for your destination country on the homepage or go to the Countries section. Each country profile shows required and recommended vaccinations, disease risks, outbreak alerts, and practical health tips.
Is the vaccination information up to date?
Yes. Our data is automatically updated from official sources including WHO, CDC, and national health authorities. Outbreak alerts are refreshed every 6 hours. However, always consult a travel medicine specialist before your trip for personalized advice.
Does Medova replace a doctor's visit?
No. Medova is an informational platform to help you prepare for travel. Final decisions about vaccinations, prophylaxis, and medications should always be made in consultation with a travel medicine doctor or other qualified healthcare professional.
How far in advance should I get vaccinated before traveling?
Ideally, consult a travel medicine specialist 6-8 weeks before departure. Some vaccines require multiple doses over several weeks, while others (like yellow fever) need at least 10 days before arrival. Check specific requirements on the country page.
What is the difference between required and recommended vaccinations?
Required vaccinations are mandatory for entry — you may be denied entry without proof (e.g. yellow fever for certain African countries). Recommended vaccinations are advised by WHO/CDC based on health risks but are not legally required. Both are shown on each country page.

Travel Information

How do I find health risks for a specific country?
Go to the country page and scroll to the "Diseases & Health Risks" section. You will see a list of diseases present in the country, their risk levels (high, moderate, low), and specific prevention recommendations.
What are outbreak alerts and how do they work?
Outbreak alerts notify you about active disease outbreaks in specific countries. They are automatically synced from WHO Disease Outbreak News and CDC Travel Notices every 6 hours. Each alert shows the disease, affected area, source, and current status.
Can I compare health requirements between two countries?
Yes! Use the search on the homepage to navigate between countries. Each country profile has the same structure, making it easy to compare vaccination requirements, health risks, and available clinics side by side.
What information is available for cities?
City pages show nearby airports (within 70 km), emergency phone numbers (police, ambulance, fire), a map with the city location, nearby clinics, and health information inherited from the country. You can also see related cities for comparison.
Is Medova available in my language?
Medova supports 15 languages: English, Polish, German, Spanish, French, Arabic, Swahili, Japanese, Brazilian Portuguese, European Portuguese, Indonesian, Hausa, Hindi, Russian, and Turkish. The interface, country data, and disease information are all translated.

Clinics

How do I find a travel medicine clinic?
Go to the Clinics section or search for clinics on a country or city page. You can filter by location, available vaccines, and specializations. Each clinic profile shows address, opening hours, services, and contact information.
How do I book an appointment at a clinic?
Find a clinic in our database and click the contact button. You will see the clinic's phone number, email, and website. Online booking through Medova will be available soon — we are currently building this feature.
Are the clinics on Medova verified?
Clinics go through a verification process where we check registration data, medical licenses, and addresses. Verified clinics display a verification badge on their profile. We recommend choosing verified clinics for your travel health needs.
Can I leave a review for a clinic?
This feature is currently in development. Soon you will be able to rate and review clinics based on your experience, helping other travelers make informed decisions about their healthcare providers.
Does Medova earn commissions from clinics?
No. We do not charge commissions on patient visits. Patients pay clinics directly for medical services. Clinics may choose paid plans for enhanced visibility and features, but this does not affect the information we show to patients.

Payments & Pricing

Are there any paid features on Medova?
Currently, all features for patients are free. In the future, we plan to introduce premium options such as personalized travel health reports, priority online consultations, and advanced travel plan management.
What payment methods does Medova accept?
When paid features become available, we will accept major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) through Stripe, our secure payment processor. All transactions are encrypted and PCI-DSS compliant.
Can I get a refund?
Refund policies will be clearly stated when paid services launch. Generally, unused services within the cancellation period will be eligible for a full refund. For medical appointments, the clinic's own cancellation policy applies.
How are clinic payments handled?
Patients pay clinics directly for medical services — Medova does not process payments between patients and clinics. Payment methods and pricing are set by each clinic individually and shown on their profile.
Will I receive invoices for paid services?
Yes, when paid services are available, you will receive an electronic invoice for every transaction via email. All invoices will also be accessible in your account under Payment History.
